The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has reported that Israeli occupation forces are killing more than 103 Palestinians and injuring 223 others every 24 hours since the resumption of their military campaign on March 18. In just eight days, the Monitor condemned the deaths of 830 Palestinians and the injuries of 1,787 others due to extensive airstrikes, artillery shelling, and drone attacks across Gaza.
The report highlights the mass displacement of over 200,000 Palestinians within a week, as many seek temporary shelter amidst the ongoing violence, with no safe zones available. The deliberate targeting of homes, tents, and makeshift shelters has become a routine violation, occurring without any military necessity.
The Euro-Med Monitor condemned Israel's targeted assassinations of civilian government officials in Gaza, emphasizing that such actions are illegal under international law. Holding administrative or civil positions does not strip individuals of their civilian status or render them legitimate military targets.
Preliminary reports indicate horrific crimes committed by the Israeli army in Tel Al-Sultan, Rafah, where approximately 50,000 civilians remain trapped under heavy bombardment. The Monitor has urged the international community to take immediate action to halt the genocide in Gaza and protect Palestinian civilians.
Since the launch of a large-scale offensive on March 18, Israeli airstrikes resulted in 429 Palestinian deaths in a single day, including many children. This conflict, supported by the U.S., has led to over 140,000 casualties since October 7, 2023, with more than 10,000 people reported missing, widespread famine, and one of the worst humanitarian disasters in modern history.
Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire and orders from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent genocide and improve humanitarian conditions, Israel continues its military operations in Gaza, raising serious concerns about accountability and the protection of civilian lives.
