In the dead of night, as families sought shelter under flimsy tents, Israeli airstrikes tore through two displacement sites in Gaza, turning moments of rest into scenes of horror. Over 20 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed in two separate attacks—one in Khan Younis in the south, the other near Beit Lahia in the north.
In Khan Younis, flames devoured the tents of the Abu Al-Rous family at the edge of Al-Istabl Street. The strike not only killed at least 15 people but set off fires that left bodies charred beyond recognition. Smoke still clung to the corpses as they arrived at the Nasser Medical Complex. Among the victims was 24-year-old Mahmoud Ahmad Abdel Karim Abu Al-Rous. Three of the dead were children.
Hours later, another strike targeted a tent near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, killing four members of the Al-Atal family. This time, the bombing landed dangerously close to a medical facility already overwhelmed by the wounded and the dead.
These are not isolated incidents—they are part of a sustained campaign of terror against civilians. In just 24 hours, 21 Palestinians were killed in various parts of Gaza, bringing the death toll to over 51,000 since October. Each number represents a life erased, a family destroyed, a story cut short.
The international community’s failure to act has only emboldened this brutality. Tents meant to shelter the displaced have become graves. Hospitals have become morgues. In Gaza, the darkness of night no longer brings peace—it brings fire, ash, and unbearable grief.
