Gaza Bakeries Reject Aid Mechanism, Urge Immediate Access to Essential Supplies

Bakeries across Gaza have rejected the newly imposed aid distribution mechanism, warning that it fails to address the urgent needs of the population—especially in the north, where the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.

Abdul Nasser Al-Ajrami, head of the Bakery Owners Association, called on international bodies to press Israel to allow the entry of vital supplies, including flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and diesel. These items are essential to maintain the last remaining sources of bread for civilians facing severe hunger.

Al-Ajrami stated that bakeries are prepared to resume work immediately if the necessary materials are delivered. He also emphasised the importance of distributing flour directly to residents, in order to secure a minimal level of food stability as conditions worsen.
