As the war on Gaza shows no sign of abating, thousands of displaced and wounded Palestinians remain stranded in Egypt, cut off from their homes and uncertain of their future. Since the beginning of 2025, the Esnad Platform has become a lifeline for 9,605 affected families, offering humanitarian relief to those injured, ill, or forced to flee their homes in search of safety and medical care.
Operating from Cairo, Esnad has provided aid to over 5,262 individuals, primarily the wounded, students, and displaced families, with plans to reach nearly 4,000 more in the coming weeks. The platform’s efforts come at a time when Gaza’s medical system is in ruins, pushing the wounded across the border in desperate search of treatment. Once in Egypt, however, many face a new form of limbo, without resources, without legal status, and often without clarity about their future.
Esnad’s call for updated contact information reflects the chaos of displacement, as many families struggle to stay connected. For those who have not yet registered, the message is urgent: act now or risk being left behind in the June aid cycle. From early February to mid-March alone, over 1,300 wounded Palestinians arrived in Cairo, each one a testament to the brutality of the siege, and the desperate need for sustained international attention.
Beyond figures and forms, the work of Esnad tells a deeper story, of a people exiled, of borders that restrict not just movement but hope, and of a war that continues to displace lives far beyond the confines of Gaza itself. In a region increasingly defined by loss, platforms like Esnad are doing what the world should be: offering compassion where there is abandonment.
