Steadfastness Convoy Unites Voices Across Borders to Challenge Siege on Gaza

A powerful movement of solidarity is sweeping across North Africa, as thousands from Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Jordan, and beyond join the Steadfastness Convoy on its determined march toward Gaza. Driven by unwavering commitment to Palestinian resilience, participants are breaking down barriers, both physical and political, in a bold effort to challenge the decades-long siege.

The convoy, now nearing the Egyptian border, carries not only humanitarian aid but the hopes and prayers of hundreds of activists united by a single message: “With Palestine, right or wrong , we are all Gaza.” Over 1,500 Tunisians, 200 Algerians, and numerous others have braved long journeys, navigating political hurdles and hostile terrains, embodying the spirit of resistance.

Organisers stress the convoy’s goal is clear: to pierce the blockade choking Gaza and deliver urgently needed aid at Rafah. Despite fears that Egyptian authorities might refuse entry, faith and sheer numbers fuel their resolve. As Amara Wannas from Algeria reflects, the convoy’s strength lies in its diversity and shared conviction, a call to the world to break the silence surrounding Gaza’s suffering.

Public support along the route has been overwhelming, with local communities greeting activists with chants, food, and solidarity. Sofiane Bououira, a convoy leader, insists that this moment demands unity across all nations and peoples to end the occupation and its devastating consequences.

Voices from Jordan and Mauritania highlight the role of youth in sustaining this movement, whether on the ground or through ongoing boycotts and protests aimed at weakening the economic foundations of the occupation. Sara Sweilem, a Jordanian journalist, describes participation as a dream realised, urging those unable to join to continue raising awareness and resisting through peaceful means.

Meanwhile, Tunisian youth activists like Hajar Ben Rajab emphasise that the fight continues beyond the convoy, with plans for future actions focused on reconstruction and sustained solidarity.

From every corner, the message is clear: Gaza’s struggle is not isolated. It resonates deeply across borders, inspiring a collective stand against oppression and a shared belief in justice and freedom. The convoy embodies the steadfast spirit that refuses to be silenced, demanding the world listen and act before it is too  late.
