Lives Lost as Gaza’s Toll Rises Under Continuing Genocidal War

Health officials in Gaza say further lives have been lost as the territory endures relentless conditions created by a continuing genocidal war. Over the past day, three Palestinians were reported killed, including one person who died after a residential structure collapsed in Khan Younis. Thirteen others were wounded, adding to a daily rhythm of casualties that has become grimly familiar for families already living on the edge of survival.

Emergency and recovery teams describe an environment where rescue work remains severely constrained. Large areas are still inaccessible, while others are choked with debris from repeated destruction. As a result, many victims are believed to remain buried beneath rubble, beyond the reach of medical assistance, a reality that has turned routine rescue operations into prolonged searches marked by uncertainty and loss during the genocidal war.

Officials note that since the announcement of a ceasefire on 11 October, violence linked to the genocidal war has not abated. At least 420 people have been killed and 1,184 injured during this period alone, while recovery crews have managed to retrieve 684 bodies. These figures, they stress, reflect only those who could be reached under current conditions.

The cumulative toll since 7 October 2023 underscores the scale of the devastation. Health authorities place the total number of Palestinians killed at 71,386, with 171,264 wounded since the start of the Gaza genocide. Behind these statistics lie shattered households, overwhelmed hospitals and a population struggling to endure the human cost of a prolonged genocidal war.
