Aid Bottlenecks Deepen Gaza’s Civilian Emergency

Promises of relief have yet to translate into meaningful change for civilians in Gaza, where the flow of humanitarian supplies remains tightly constrained. Despite public assurances tied to a new phase of truce arrangements, entry points continue to admit only limited quantities, leaving families without the essentials required for daily survival amid a genocidal war that has reshaped every aspect of life.

As winter weather intensifies, the strain is becoming unbearable for people sheltering in makeshift tents. Cold nights, heavy rain and inadequate insulation are exposing displaced families to serious health risks, particularly children and the elderly. Fuel shortages persist, curtailing heating, electricity generation and basic cooking, while cooking gas is scarcely available. These shortages, residents say, breach commitments meant to ease civilian suffering during the genocidal war.

Questions have also been raised over official tallies of aid convoys. Figures circulated publicly suggest a steady inflow, yet those on the ground report that the quantities reaching communities are far smaller. Local monitors argue that fewer than half the announced trucks actually deliver supplies where they are needed, compounding shortages and prolonging hardship across the enclave as the genocidal war grinds on.
