SAFA- Israeli occupation forces continued violating the ceasefire agreement across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, targeting residential areas, tents sheltering displaced families, and a police post while carrying out airstrikes, shelling, and other military operations across the territory.
Hussam Mohammad Ramadan Al-Shafie, 36, was killed after an Israeli airstrike struck a tent sheltering displaced families west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Three others, including a child and a woman, were moderately injured.
In a separate incident, Palestinian child Moataz Abu Shaar died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah.
Basem Masaad Ermilat also succumbed to wounds sustained in an Israeli strike targeting Al-Qadisiyah Camp, west of Khan Younis, two days earlier, raising the death toll from that attack.
Later in the day, seven members of the Palestinian Civil Police, including Col. Mohammad Marwan Salem, director of the Jabalia Police Station, were killed and several others injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a police post at Khan Market in the Al-Falouja area, west of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security said Israeli occupation forces continue to target law enforcement agencies and civilian institutions across the Gaza Strip, describing the attack as part of an ongoing campaign against civilian institutions.
Israeli quadcopter drones also opened heavy fire on homes and tents sheltering displaced families near Al-Mahatta Mosque in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, spreading fear among residents and displaced families.
Israeli occupation forces also carried out two controlled demolitions in southern Khan Younis while drones flew at low altitude over the northern part of the city. Israeli artillery fired illumination rounds over southern Khan Younis and shelled western Rafah, continuing military operations despite the ceasefire remaining in effect.
The latest incidents come amid repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, with Palestinians continuing to be killed and injured on an almost daily basis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said a number of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them because of continued attacks and the dangerous security situation.
According to the ministry, 1,115 Palestinians have been killed and 3,585 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, while 800 bodies have been recovered from various areas across the Gaza Strip.
The ministry added that the cumulative death toll since the start of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,238 Palestinians killed and 173,693 injured, warning that continued military violations are worsening the humanitarian crisis and obstructing relief efforts as well as the recovery of victims.
