The Islamic Resistance Movement-Hamas mourns in a statement on Tuesday the death of South African freedom fighter Anwa Najeh who passed away after contracting coronavirus.
"South Africa has lost an advocate for human rights who fought against racism. Moreover, Palestinian has lost a leading figure who supported the Palestinian cause at all levels. The late las set up the Palestinian Museum in Cape Town to keep Palestine in the memory of different South African generations," said the movement.
The movement confirmed that Anwah Najeh passed away after a long journey of solidarity with the just causes worldwide, above all the Palestinian issue, and he was present in every critical stage where support for Palestine was needed.
It added, "today, we lose an honorable example of South African supporters of the Palestinian cause, especially in this very critical stage of the Palestinian cause."
Finally, Hamas extended its sincerest condolences to his family and South Africa.
