Dozens of Israeli settlers on Thursday morning broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque amid heavy police presence and tight restrictions.
Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department said that the Israeli police closed the Mughrabi Gate after it allowed 132 settlers, including 40 students, to storm al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning, roamed its courtyards, and took lessons about the "Temple".
Moreover, another 15 Israeli soldiers stormed the mosque and performed Talmudic rituals.
The Israeli police forces tighten entry restrictions on Palestinian worshipers, forced some worshipers to hand their ID cards before entering the mosque and deport dozens of Palestinians from it.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is facing daily incursions and violations by Israeli settlers, in an attempt to impose complete control over it and the incursions increase in the time of Jewish holidays.
