The occupation forces on Monday assaulted a student while he was on his way to his school near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the center of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
Imad Abu Shamsiya, an activist in the Human Rights Defenders Gathering, told Safa that the occupation forces beat the 14-year-old child, Muntasir Raed Abu Rumaila, while he was crossing the Abu al-Rish military checkpoint to go to his school.
He explained that the occupation's military checkpoints separate students from their schools and search them a daily basis, while they are on their way to or returning from their schools, adding, "The occupation forces abuse citizens at military checkpoints, assault them and prevent them from reaching their homes or schools."
He indicated that the occupation forces have strengthened their security measures since the beginning of the excavations in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque to build an elevator for settlers, which threatens the mosque's historical and religious landmarks and facilitates settlers' incursions.
