Hamas condemns and rejects Abbas-Gantz meeting

Hamas said in a statement that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's meeting with the Minister of Defense Benny Gantz is condemned and rejected.

The Spokesperson of Hamas Hazen Qassim said that the Abbas-Gantz meeting is meant to continue deceiving the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah of the possibility to make any achievements for the sake of the Palestinian people, and considered that this attitude deepens the Palestinian political division and makes the Palestinian status more complicated.

Qassim confirmed that those meetings between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli occupation encourage some of the bodies in the region to normalize relations with the Israeli occupation, and weakens the Palestinian position.

A member of the Fateh Central Committee Hassan Al-Sheikh noted that President Mahmoud Abbas met Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Sunday.
Al-Sheikh did not reveal any details on his Twitter account, but that the meeting discussed the Israeli-Palestinian relations by all sides.

Gantz's office stated that the meeting discussed the civil, economic, security, and political issues with Abbas, and informed Abbas that the Israeli occupation prepares to launch a series of procedures that might strengthen the Palestinian Authority's economy in the West Bank.
