OIC condemns the repeated attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the storming of extremist settlers groups and the Israeli occupation forces at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The organization stressed that "these repeated attacks on the holy sites come within the framework of Israel's attempts, the occupying power, to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem."

It noted that this constitutes a violation of international law, the Geneva Conventions and relevant United Nations resolutions.

In addition, the organization held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for the consequences of the continuation of these systematic attacks.

It called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities to put an end to these violations and launch a political path to achieve peace based on the vision of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
