The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that the Israeli occupation's closure of Sebastia's archaeological site is part of the comprehensive Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people that targets the historical and archaeological heritage in an attempt to obliterate Palestinian historical monuments.

"As we strongly condemn this aggressive Zionist behavior, we are shocked by the absence of the PA's decisions and positions that deter the Zionist occupation violations," said Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman.

"We call on all Palestinian people components and forces to confront and thwart the occupation's projects and schemes with all forms and tools of struggle and resistance," Barhoum added.
