In a rare and emotional display, Inaf Tsingoker, the mother of Israeli soldier Matan Tsingoker, who is held captive by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, issued harsh threats against the Israeli government. This followed an incident during a Knesset session where she was reportedly silenced by Israeli Minister Elkin.
"If my son returns in a bag or pieces, I won’t sue you; I will take the law into my own hands," Inaf declared, expressing frustration at the government’s handling of the captives. She accused the authorities of neglecting their responsibility and voiced fears that only a few captives would be returned alive while others would be killed in captivity.
Speaking at a demonstration in Tel Aviv, she directly warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating, "If Matan returns in a bag, I will be your worst nightmare." Her words echoed a growing frustration among the families of captives, who fear the Israeli government is prioritizing military objectives over the lives of its soldiers.
On December 7, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, released a recording of Matan Tsingoker. In the recording, he criticized Netanyahu, holding him accountable for the prolonged captivity of Israeli prisoners. He described his feelings of frustration and fear, revealing the harsh conditions he and other captives endure, including a lack of sufficient food, clean water, and a healthy living environment.
In an emotional message to his mother, Matan expressed his longing to reunite with her, sharing his hopes to sit by her side again. He also appealed to the families of the captives and Israeli citizens to pressure the government by protesting outside the Prime Minister’s residence. Matan’s plea ended with a call for an end to their collective suffering.
The situation highlights the deepening crisis within Israeli society regarding its captives in Gaza, as families demand urgent action and accountability from the government.
