Renowned British Writer: Palestinians Demonstrate Unwavering Commitment to Their Land

The distinguished British writer David Hearst has asserted that Palestinians have shown the world their resolute determination to remain on their land, even in the face of total war.

Hearst emphasised that Gaza has proven its resilience to both Palestinians and the international community, demonstrating its capacity to withstand all-out war without relinquishing its land. He noted that Gaza has sent a message to the world, with rightful pride, that despite the heinous genocide committed by Israeli forces, no new Nakba has occurred.

He stated that, despite over 15 months of relentless brutality, "Israel" has failed on all fronts.

Hearst further pointed out that the events have revealed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the primary obstacle to a ceasefire in Gaza. His stance caused deep frustration within his negotiating team, delaying the possibility of peace.

On Wednesday evening, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, announced at a press conference in Doha that mediators had successfully brokered an agreement. The deal includes a hostage exchange, a return to sustained calm, and steps toward a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, accompanied by an Israeli withdrawal from the Strip. Implementation of the agreement is set to begin this Sunday.

The announcement came on the 467th day of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. With unwavering American support, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 156,000 Palestinians, leaving tens of thousands wounded, most of whom are children and women. More than 11,000 individuals remain missing.
