Israeli forces have intensified their assault on the Gaza Strip, leaving devastation in their wake as relentless airstrikes, artillery fire, and ground incursions claim more civilian lives. The renewed escalation follows a brief ceasefire, with the occupation resuming its deadly campaign, targeting residential areas, medical points, and displacement camps.
In the past 24 hours, dozens of civilians have been killed, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirming that hospitals have received 61 martyrs and over 130 wounded. Many remain trapped under the rubble as rescue efforts struggle to keep pace with the destruction. Since October, the number of Palestinians killed has surpassed 50,000, while tens of thousands more have been left with life-altering injuries.
Israeli warplanes have levelled homes in Khan Younis and Gaza City, striking areas where families sought refuge. Displacement camps, already overcrowded with those who fled earlier bombardments, have become new targets. At least five civilians were killed when Israeli forces shelled makeshift tents in Al-Mawasi, and a strike on a UNRWA school in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp claimed the lives of four more, including a child.
Journalists continue to be targeted, with Palestinian reporters Mohammed Mansour and Hossam Shabat among those killed in Israeli airstrikes. Medical facilities have also come under fire, as a reconnaissance missile struck a health post near Al-Shati Camp, adding to the growing toll of attacks on vital services.
The situation on the ground remains dire, with Israeli tanks advancing in Rafah while heavy shelling forces families to flee yet again. The destruction of homes, schools, and medical centres has turned Gaza into an unlivable wasteland, with no safe refuge left for those trying to survive. As the bombardment intensifies, the international community’s silence only deepens the suffering, leaving Gaza’s people to endure yet another chapter of unbearable loss.
