The Journalists' Service Center has revealed harrowing details surrounding the death of 29-year-old Palestinian journalist Mohammed Imad Mansour, a correspondent for Palestine Today Channel in Khan Younis. Eyewitness accounts and information from his brother, Nour Mansour, shed light on the tragic circumstances of his death.
On March 24, 2025, after returning home from a day of fieldwork, Mohammed's rented house in the Batn al-Sameen area was struck by four missiles fired from an Israeli drone at approximately 12:55 PM. Initially, two missiles hit the room where he was resting, causing immediate injury.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Mohammed tried to reach the door, but as he moved, the drone released two additional missiles, ensuring he could not flee. He sustained fatal injuries, including a severed main artery, which led to his immediate death.
His wife was also seriously injured in the bombing and is currently receiving treatment at the European Hospital in Khan Younis. The Journalists' Service Center noted that the intensity of the drone strikes hindered any potential rescue efforts, both by Mohammed and by neighbors who were deterred by the low-flying aircraft and continuous bombardment.
The Center has called for urgent action to protect Palestinian journalists and to put an end to the violence targeting media workers in the region, emphasizing the need for accountability and safety in conflict zones.
