In the occupied West Bank, the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camps are enduring a prolonged military onslaught that has now entered its 124th consecutive day. Nour Shams camp, in particular, has faced near-constant attacks, with 111 days of raids, demolitions, and violent incursions that have left much of the area in ruins.
Israeli forces continue to bulldoze homes, streets, and infrastructure, with over 400 houses destroyed and more than 2,500 others damaged. Residents speak of entire neighbourhoods being wiped out, and once-thriving streets turned into rubble. The destruction of homes in both Nour Shams and Tulkarm camps has displaced over 25,000 people, most with nowhere left to go.
Arbitrary demolition orders have been issued for 106 buildings, while soldiers convert seized homes into military outposts after forcibly evicting their occupants. Roadblocks, earth mounds, and closed checkpoints now cage in entire communities, cutting them off from medical aid, food, and work.
Thirteen civilians have been killed so far, including a child and two women one of them eight months pregnant. As Gaza burns under siege, the suffering in the West Bank continues largely unnoticed. Yet in Tulkarm, as in Gaza, Palestinian lives are being upended by a system of occupation that shows no sign of restraint.
