Young Palestinians Detained Amid Escalating West Bank Raids

Early on Tuesday, Israeli forces carried out a broad series of operations across the occupied West Bank, detaining 14 young Palestinians in the course of large-scale incursions that included extensive home searches and widespread damage to property. Residents in towns and refugee camps were also pulled aside for on-the-spot interrogations during the sweeping actions.

In Far’ûn, south of Tulkarem, troops arrested 18-year-old Abdul Rahman Malik Musleh at his place of work, while on the outskirts of al-Bireh, near Ramallah, Aseed Abed was removed from the city amid a raid. In the al-Am’ari refugee camp, south of al-Bireh, soldiers searched multiple homes and confiscated belongings before arresting three young men, Ahmad Abdul Mohsen, Osama Abdul Mohsen and Mohammad Khalaf. In Beita, south of Nablus, another youth was taken, his identity yet unknown; at the old city of Nablus itself, Laith Khashanah was detained and his mother reportedly injured during the intrusion into their home.

In the Hebron-region town of ad-Dhahiriya, troops rounded up ten young men for field interrogation, some of whom were later released, and stormed the property of Adli al-Haimouni in Hebron city, damaging household items while searching for his son Ahmad, who was not at home. In al-Shuyukh, northeast of Hebron, brothers Issa and Mohammad Ruhi Halaika were arrested after the forces invaded their family home. Meanwhile in the Jenin governorate five youth from Burqin, Fida al-Salamah, Luay Mohammad Abu Badawiya, Mohammad Ziad Abu Badawiya and Alaa al-Din Hussein Fathi Abu Zina, and Mujahid Zaki Sadaqa from nearby Anza, were also taken in early-morning raids.

These operations come amid a sustained crackdown across the West Bank that many view as tied to the genocidal war unleashed in Gaza. Raids, detentions and property destruction have become near-daily occurrences, raising deep concerns in Palestinian communities about rights, freedom and the broader humanitarian impact of persistent military pressure.
