In the past day, two more lives were lost and four people injured as Gaza endured further violence, pushing the overall death toll since the start of the genocidal war to 72,069. The figures reflect a reality in which even periods labelled as calm offer little relief, with casualties continuing to mount quietly and relentlessly.
Since a ceasefire announced on 11 October, at least 611 people have been killed and 1,630 wounded. Rescue teams have recovered hundreds of bodies in the aftermath, yet many victims are still believed to lie beneath collapsed buildings or in areas that remain unreachable. Ambulances and emergency crews face constant barriers, leaving families waiting without answers as days turn into weeks.
Beyond the immediate loss of life, Gaza’s health system is nearing total collapse. Tens of thousands of wounded and chronically ill patients are thought to need treatment unavailable inside the territory. Hospitals are overwhelmed, supplies are scarce, and specialised care has all but disappeared. Doctors and medical staff continue to issue urgent appeals for patients to be allowed to travel abroad for life-saving treatment, warning that delays are costing lives long after the bombs fall silent.
