Women and Girls Bear the Brunt of Gaza’s Genocidal War

Official figures indicate that more than 38,000 Palestinian women and girls have been killed in the genocidal war on Gaza between October 2023 and December 2025, highlighting the devastating scale of civilian loss over the past two years. The data points to a sustained pattern of lethal military operations across the territory, with civilians bearing the heaviest burden of the violence.

Of those killed, approximately 22,000 were women and 16,000 were girls, amounting to an average of around 47 women and girls losing their lives each day. The deaths are reported to have resulted from aerial bombardments and ground military operations, with many victims struck in their homes or while attempting to flee areas under attack.

Beyond the immediate death toll, the wider humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated sharply. Large numbers of women and girls have been injured or forcibly displaced, while access to essential medical care, shelter, and basic services has been severely restricted amid the widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure. The collapse of healthcare systems has further intensified the vulnerability of those who survive.

Reports also indicate that the killings have continued despite repeated announcements of temporary pauses in fighting, with civilians remaining exposed to ongoing danger. The figures have intensified international calls for accountability and urgent measures to protect the remaining civilian population, as concerns grow over the long-term demographic and social impact of the genocidal war.
