Israeli settlers carried out a fresh wave of attacks across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, targeting Palestinian property, agricultural land and vehicles, while continuing a broader campaign of intimidation against local communities.
In the northern West Bank town of Kifl Haris, near Salfit, settlers reportedly entered the area before dawn and vandalised civilian property before attempting to set fire to a mosque in the centre of the town. Residents said the attackers moved through neighbourhoods damaging homes and infrastructure during the raid.
Elsewhere in the Salfit area, settlers from a nearby outpost uprooted and cut down olive trees belonging to Palestinian families, adding to mounting damage inflicted on farmland during recent months. Olive groves remain a vital source of income for many rural communities, and repeated destruction of trees has become a growing feature of life under the ongoing genocidal war and expansion of settlement activity.
In the south of the occupied West Bank, settlers in Masafer Yatta, near Hebron, vandalised a memorial dedicated to Palestinian activist Suleiman al-Hathaleen for the fifth time, destroying surrounding trees and damaging the site once again. In Bethlehem district, settlers grazed livestock on privately owned Palestinian land near Nahalin, reportedly damaging grapevines and olive trees while under the protection of Israeli forces.
Further attacks were also reported near Nablus, where vehicles travelling close to Awarta came under stone-throwing attacks, causing material damage. Meanwhile, settlers continued targeting a cemetery serving the villages of Kisan and al-Rashaida east of Bethlehem, destroying grave markers for the second time in less than a week. Residents said settlers had repeatedly attempted to prevent burials there, including an incident in which mourners were confronted while trying to bury a young girl before local residents intervened.
