West Bank Communities Face Escalating Settler Violence as Homes, Mosques and Vital Infrastructure Targeted

A wave of overnight violence swept across several areas of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, leaving multiple Palestinians injured and causing extensive damage to homes, religious sites and essential civilian infrastructure. Residents reported that armed settlers carried out coordinated attacks in a number of communities while Israeli forces were present in the surrounding areas, deepening fears among families already living under mounting pressure linked to the ongoing genocidal war.

In the central West Bank, two mosques in villages north and west of Ramallah were set ablaze during the early hours of the morning. Parts of the buildings suffered significant fire damage, prompting widespread condemnation from local residents and religious authorities. Community members described the incidents as part of a growing pattern of attacks targeting Palestinian places of worship and cultural life.

Further north, several villages in the Nablus region came under attack as groups of settlers moved from nearby outposts towards residential areas. Witnesses said homes and vehicles were damaged, windows were smashed and one house was set on fire. Residents attempted to protect their neighbourhoods and property before clashes erupted. Four Palestinians were reported injured during the violence. In the village of Burin, stones were thrown at a family home, causing damage and panic among those inside.

Elsewhere in the northern Jordan Valley, settlers reportedly intercepted agricultural equipment and a water tanker that residents were using to deliver drinking water to families living in remote communities. Local officials said the incident followed the destruction of key water lines serving Palestinian households, raising concerns over efforts to undermine access to basic necessities. In the south of the West Bank, additional caravans were reportedly transported to a recently established settlement outpost near Masafer Yatta, an area that has witnessed increasing settlement expansion amid the wider genocidal war.
