Israeli occupation demolishes a house in Silwan

The Israeli municipality on Wednesday demolished a house under construction in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces, accompanied by municipality crews, stormed the Shiyah area in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood, surrounded a house under construction, and then proceeded to demolish it using hand demolition tools.

The house, which is unroofed, belongs to the Jerusalemite, Muhannad Al-Zaghal, and its area is estimated at 90 square meters. .

The occupation municipality continues the policy of demolishing homes in the occupied city of Jerusalem since its occupation in 1967, under the pretext of non-licensing, although it imposes impractical restrictions and conditions regarding Jerusalemites obtaining building permits.

Silwan residents denounced the escalation of house demolitions and forcing the people to forcibly demolish them under flimsy pretexts, calling on the world to spressure Israel to stop the occupation decisions aimed at displacing them and demolishing their homes.
