On Saturday, the Israeli occupation authorities released 10 Palestinian prisoners from the West Bank via a bus operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, as part of the sixth batch of the "Flood of the Free" exchange deal.
The prisoners arrived at the Ramallah Cultural Palace in the city of Ramallah, where hundreds of Palestinians awaited them, waving flags and chanting in support of Gaza and the resistance. The freed prisoners raised victory signs and waved to the cheering crowd.
They appeared in poor health and will undergo initial medical examinations by teams from the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Red Crescent.
This marks the sixth batch of prisoners released by Israel, bringing the total to 369, including 333 from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023, and 36 serving life sentences.
Earlier on Saturday morning, the Palestinian resistance in Gaza handed over three Israeli captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross as part of the same exchange deal.
The event took place in Khan Younis, where the resistance had set up a large platform decorated with images of martyrs, banners, and symbolic designs. Hundreds of fighters from Al-Qassam Brigades and Saraya Al-Quds participated, alongside a large public presence.
The first phase of the "Flood of the Free" deal aims to release a total of 1,737 Palestinian prisoners over six weeks, with weekly batches.
A ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel took effect on January 19, facilitated by Egypt and Qatar with U.S. support. The agreement consists of three phases, each lasting 42 days, with negotiations during the first phase to determine the terms of the second and third.
