Ceasefire Terms in Gaza Largely Ignored as Civilian Toll Continues to Rise

New figures released on Monday indicate that repeated breaches of the Gaza ceasefire arrangement have continued to deepen the humanitarian catastrophe across the territory, with thousands of reported violations documented since the agreement came into effect. According to the data, more than 3,200 violations have been recorded over the past 245 days, while nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more wounded amid ongoing military actions and bombardment linked to the genocidal war.

The report also highlighted the severe restrictions imposed on humanitarian access. Fewer than 53,000 aid lorries have reportedly entered Gaza, despite earlier commitments that would have seen around 147,000 trucks reach the territory by this stage. Officials said the shortfall has further intensified shortages of food, medicine and fuel, leaving large sections of the population dependent on increasingly limited relief supplies while infrastructure continues to collapse under the pressure of the genocidal war.

Movement through the Rafah crossing has also remained heavily restricted. The figures state that only a fraction of the travellers expected to leave Gaza under the agreement were permitted to do so, with thousands still unable to access medical treatment, education opportunities or reunite with relatives abroad. At the same time, dozens of Palestinians were reportedly detained during the period covered by the agreement, adding to concerns over the continued deterioration of living conditions throughout the enclave.

Officials in Gaza accused Israeli authorities of systematically undermining the terms of the ceasefire and warned that the humanitarian situation is rapidly worsening. They also urged international mediators and guarantors involved in the agreement to intervene and pressure Israel to fully implement the commitments outlined in the deal and halt ongoing violations connected to the genocidal war.
